Brow Hairs That Stick Up? Eyebrow Lamination (and eyelash ext questions we hear)
By Bella Luna - Lash and Brow Boutique | June 25, 2026
We hear this all the time: you want brows that behave, and you want to feel comfortable while we do them. One long-time client put it simply: our team is “so kind, sweet, and professional, ” and “my brows always come out perfect.” If your brow hairs stick up or grow in different directions, eyebrow lamination usually helps a lot by smoothing and setting the hair into a clean, uniform shape for 6 to 8 weeks. It’s a great fit for unruly, bushy brows and for brows that look patchy because the hair won’t lay right. It’s not the best choice if you have very brittle brow hair or active skin reactions.

Quick reality check: Lamination re-shapes the hair you already have. It doesn’t add pigment, and it doesn’t create new hairs, but it can make your brows look a lot fuller by lining everything up.
Why some brows “fight back” after you brush them
Sticking-up brow hairs usually come down to growth patterns. Some hairs grow forward, some grow up, some twist, and a few just stand straight out like they’ve got their own plans. Add in dry weather, heat, sweat, and quick makeup routines, and it’s easy to end up with brows that look messy by lunchtime.
In Stevenson Ranch, hot, dry summers make this even more obvious. You can leave the house with brows brushed neatly, then a school drop-off, errands, or a Six Flags day later, they’ve popped right back up. Parents and commuters around The Old Road and I-5 tell us they want something that holds up without turning brow gel into a daily chore.
- You brush them into place, but they spring back up.
- One brow lies flat and the other looks “fluffy” and uneven.
- You have plenty of hair, it just won’t go in the same direction.
Eyebrow lamination: how we get stubborn hairs to lay flat for 6 to 8 weeks
Eyebrow lamination is a non-invasive chemical styling service. In plain language, we soften the hair just enough to re-direct it, then set it so it stays in that brushed, groomed shape. That’s why it works so well for hairs that stick up or cross over each other. We’re not “adding” anything to your brow. We’re getting your natural brow hair to cooperate.
Our lamination service is $80. If you want extra definition, we can pair it with eyebrow tinting for $30 more. Tint plus lamination is a favorite for people who like a clean, put-together brow but don’t want to fill them in every morning.
And we don’t rush the detail work. Clients call out our “attention to detail” and how we listen to what you want, especially when you care about symmetry. That matters with lamination because the difference between “feathered and polished” and “too brushed up” is small. We’ll talk through your daily routine, the direction your hair grows, and the look you actually want before we set anything.
“My brows have never looked this good!”
One of our first-time visitors
Hold matters in real life: Laminated brows tend to handle sweat and quick weekend plans better than daily gel alone. You still have brows that look intentional, even when you’re moving fast.
Is brow lamination right for your brows, or do you need something else?
Lamination is a strong choice if you have enough natural hair, but the hairs grow in weird directions or stick up no matter what you do. It’s also great if your brows look “patchy” mainly because some hairs lay flat and others point up, so the shape reads uneven.
We’ll be honest if it’s not the right move. If your brows are very sparse with little natural hair, lamination can’t create fullness that isn’t there. If you’ve had recent microblading, if your brow hair is severely damaged from over-processing, or if your skin is actively irritated or reacting, we’ll pause and talk through safer options instead.
Good combo if you want more definition: lamination plus tinting (and light shaping) for a clean look that still reads natural.
Aftercare that actually keeps laminated brows looking clean
The first day is the big one. For 24 hours, keep your brows dry and leave heavy oils alone. Water and oil right away can soften the set and shorten your results.
- Skip water on the brow area for 24 hours. That includes steamy showers and sweaty workouts if you can help it.
- Avoid heavy oils and oily skincare on the brow line. Oils can break down the set faster.
- Brush gently once they’re set. A quick brush usually keeps the shape looking intentional without makeup.
We also recommend a patch test for tinting or chemical services, especially in summer when heat and sun can make skin feel more reactive.
Why Stevenson Ranch regulars keep coming back to Bella Luna
Bella Luna is a neighborhood lash and brow boutique in Stevenson Ranch, and we’ve been doing this work for 16 years. A lot of our brow clients are repeat visitors who’ve trusted us for 5, 8, even 10 years because they want consistency. They want someone who’s gentle, detailed, and takes the time to understand exactly what they mean when they say, “I want them neat, but not harsh.”
